Transfer Switches
A transfer switch is how a generator safely powers your home, shed or site: it connects the generator to your switchboard and keeps it isolated from the grid, so no power feeds back down the line. An automatic transfer switch (ATS) watches the mains, starts an auto-start generator the moment supply fails, moves the load across, then hands back to the grid and shuts the generator down when power returns. A manual transfer switch (changeover switch) does the same job by hand: start the generator, flick the switch.
The Genelite GT series pairs with auto-start generators from 5 to 43kVA in single or three phase, the GATSI panels cover three phase sets from about 44 to 180kVA, and the larger GT panels run from 200kVA to 900kVA.
