Gen4Sale
Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you buy from gen4sale.com.au. Nothing in them takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Updated October 2026.
About us
gen4sale.com.au is run by The Trustee for Wood Family Trust, trading as Gen4Sale (ABN 90 236 278 822), at 2/441 Woolcock St, Garbutt QLD 4814. You can call us on 07 4728 2796 or email info@gen4sale.com.au.
In these terms, "we" and "us" means Gen4Sale, and "you" means the person placing the order. These terms apply to every order placed on this website.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those rights.
Orders
- Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract starts when we confirm your order by email.
- We may decline or cancel an order before it is dispatched, for example if the product is no longer available, a price or description on the site is clearly wrong, or we can't deliver to your address. If we do, we'll tell you and refund everything you have paid.
- Need to change or cancel an order? Call or email us straight away. We'll help where we can before it is dispatched, but we can't promise a change once the order has gone through to the supplier.
- You need to be 18 or over to place an order.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
- Delivery is added at checkout where it applies.
- Payment is taken in full when you order, using the payment options shown at checkout.
- A price marked RRP is the supplier's recommended retail price when we listed the product. It is shown so you can compare.
- Prices can change, but you pay the price shown when you placed your order.
Delivery
- We deliver Australia-wide. The delivery options and cost for your address show at checkout, and our Shipping policy explains how delivery works, including unloading larger units.
- Delivery times are estimates. If your order is going to be held up, we'll let you know.
- Please make sure someone can receive the delivery. If it can't be completed because nobody is there or the unit can't be unloaded, the carrier may charge to deliver it again or take it back, and we may pass that charge on. We'll tell you the amount first.
- Ownership passes to you once we have received full payment. Responsibility for the goods passes to you when they are delivered.
- Please check your order when it arrives and tell us as soon as you can if anything is damaged or missing, so we can sort it out with the carrier. This doesn't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Returns, refunds and warranty
- Change of mind. We don't offer refunds or exchanges if you change your mind or order the wrong product, so please check the specifications before you order, or ask us.
- Faulty goods. If a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us. We may ask for photos or a description of the problem. We'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with the Australian Consumer Law.
- Sending goods back. We'll tell you how to return a faulty product. If you are entitled to return it and it can't be sent back without significant cost to you, for example a large or heavy unit, we'll collect it at our cost.
- Manufacturer's warranty. Most products also come with a manufacturer's warranty. You can make a warranty claim through us or directly with the manufacturer, and we're happy to help either way.
Our Refund policy has more detail.
Product information
We work to keep descriptions, specifications and photos accurate. Specifications come from the manufacturers and can change, and photos can show optional extras. If a detail matters to you, check with us before you order.
Using your generator safely
- Run generators outdoors in a well-ventilated spot, away from doors, windows and vents. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which can kill.
- Only a licensed electrician should connect a generator to a building's wiring, through a suitable changeover or transfer switch.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for setup, fuel, earthing and maintenance.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, for example for goods not of a kind ordinarily bought for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited to replacing or repairing the goods, or paying the cost of doing so.
We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters or carrier disruptions. If that happens we'll keep you informed, and if your order is significantly delayed you can cancel it for a full refund.
Privacy
We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you placed your order is the one that applies to it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
