10kVA iGo2Zero Hybrid Generator PH10/20

The iGo2Zero PH10/20 is a 10kVA three phase hybrid generator (415V, 50Hz) that combines a Yanmar 3TNV88 diesel generator, 20kWh of LiFePO4 battery storage and 5 x 460W solar panels in one integrated system. The Yanmar is a naturally aspirated, three cylinder, 1.642 litre engine running at 1500 rpm, driving a Leroy Somer TAL-A40-C brushless alternator with AVR. Control is by a DeepSea 7420 controller, with a four pole circuit breaker for protection.

Key features

• Solar, diesel generator and battery storage are integrated in one system, so the site has one installation to plan instead of three.
• Battery storage and the solar panels (2,300W in total) supply part of the load, which cuts the hours the diesel generator has to run.
• The LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries are built from 5.12kWh, 51.2V packs rated for at least 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
• The brushless alternator has an AVR (automatic voltage regulator) to hold output voltage steady, and harmonic distortion is less than 5%.
• A visualised smart control system and remote monitoring show how the system is operating.

The 100 litre bunded fuel tank gives about 40 hours of run time at 75% load, working from the 2.5 L/hr consumption at that load, and an external fuel connection is provided. The canopy is galvanised and powder-coated, silenced to 60 dB(A) at 7 m, and sits on a heavy-duty skid base with fork pockets. Outlets are three 15A 240V and one 32A 415V.

What it will run

What a 10kVA hybrid system can run depends on the site's loads, not on the kVA figure alone. The rating is apparent power, so the usable power in kW depends on the power factor of the loads. Add up what runs at the same time, allow for the surge that motors, pumps and compressors draw at start-up, and note the hours each item runs per day, since the battery's energy and the diesel's fuel decide how long the system keeps going.
