6.5kVA Yanmar Diesel Generator GYD5000E Mine Spec

The GYD5000E Mine Spec is a 6.5kVA (5kW) single phase Yanmar diesel generator at 240V and 50Hz. Its Yanmar L100AE-DEG is an overhead valve, single cylinder diesel running at 3000 rpm, with recoil and electric start. The alternator is a brushless AC synchronous type with Class H insulation, and two 15A 240V outlets are protected by a circuit breaker and RCD.

• Recoil and electric start give you two ways to start the engine, and a jump start receptacle is fitted for use with a booster if the battery runs flat.

What it will run

At 5kW (about 20.8A at 240V), the GYD5000E Mine Spec typically runs site lighting, fridges and freezers, a pressure pump, device and battery chargers and workshop power tools, with the combined load kept under 5kW. The 15A rating on each outlet is not the limit: the two outlets share that output between them. Motors in pumps, compressors and power tools draw a surge at start, so read each machine's compliance plate and allow for that surge.
