6.5kVA Yanmar Diesel Generator GYD5000E-H

The GYD5000E-H is a 6.5kVA (5kW) single phase Yanmar diesel generator at 240V and 50Hz. Its Yanmar L100 is an overhead valve, single cylinder diesel running at 3000 rpm, with recoil and electric start. The alternator is a brushless AC synchronous type with Class H insulation, and the outlets are two 15A IP66 sockets with RCD and circuit breaker protection.

What it will run

At 5kW (about 20.8A at 240V), the GYD5000E-H typically runs lighting, fridges and freezers, a pressure pump, device chargers and workshop power tools, with the combined load kept under 5kW. The 15A rating on each outlet is not the limit: the two outlets share that output between them. Motors in pumps, compressors and power tools draw a surge at start, so read each appliance's compliance plate and allow for that surge before you rely on the set.
