6kVA Honda Petrol Generator GH5000E/3

The Honda GH5000E/3 is a three phase petrol generator with electric start and a 6kVA (5kW) output at 415V and 50Hz. A Honda GX-series single cylinder overhead valve (OHV) engine turns an AC synchronous brushless alternator at 3000rpm, and the outlets are one 10A 415V and two 15A 240V.

Six kVA of three phase supply suits modest three phase loads: a pump, a compressor or a workshop machine, plus lighting and hand tools on the 240V outlets. Pumps, compressors and machine tools pull a heavy surge as the motor starts, and a soft starter or star-delta starter reduces it, so check each plate for its kW rating and starting current. Add the single phase and three phase loads together and keep them within the rating.
