2.5kVA Honda Petrol Generator GH2000H Hire Spec

The GH2000H is a hire spec single phase petrol generator producing 2kW / 2.5kVA at 240V and 50Hz. A Honda GX160, an overhead valve single cylinder engine running at 3000 rpm, drives an AC synchronous brushless alternator with Class H insulation. Starting is by recoil, and a small roll frame surrounds the set.

• Two 10A 240V outlets are rated IP66, which means they are sealed against dust and strong water jets.
• Circuit breakers and RCD protection on the outlets trip the circuit on an overload or an earth leakage fault.
• Recoil start has no battery to charge or go flat, which keeps starting simple.

The 3.6 litre tank runs the set for 3.1 hours at 100% load or 5 hours at 60% load. Noise is 72 dB(A) at 7 m. Engine oil capacity is 0.6 litres.

What it will run

The GH2000H can supply about 8.3A in total at 240V (2000W divided by 240V), shared between its two outlets. Typically that suits site lighting, drills, grinders, a small compressor, a transfer pump and chargers, as long as the combined load stays within the rated output. Motors draw several times their running current at start, so bring the largest load on first and add the rest after it settles. The compliance plate on each appliance gives its running and starting figures. If the set is to back up a building, a licensed electrician must install the inlet and changeover switch.
