33kVA Cummins Diesel Generator GCM30S

The GCM30S is a three phase, 415V, 50Hz diesel generator set built around a Cummins 4B3.9G1, a four cylinder, 3.9 litre, naturally aspirated engine running at 1500 rpm. It is rated at 30kVA / 24kW prime power (PRP) and also carries a standby (ESP) rating. The alternator is a Mecc Alte ECP28VL4A, brushless with an AVR.

Key features

• The mechanical governor keeps engine speed steady as the load changes.

The 280 litre tank runs the set for 54 hours at 75% load. Fuel consumption is 6.7 litres an hour at 100% load, 5.2 at 75% and 4 at 50%. Engine oil capacity is 11 litres and coolant capacity is 12.5 litres.

At 24kW prime, the GCM30S typically suits a workshop, farm or small factory on a three phase supply: lighting, refrigeration, pumps, compressors and machinery. Add up the running and starting load of each appliance from its compliance plate, and allow headroom for the largest motor, which can draw several times its running current at start. Balance the load across the three phases. Prime power (PRP) is for variable load for unlimited hours a year at an average 75% load factor, with 10% overload for one hour in twelve. Standby power (ESP) is for emergency supply at an average 85% load factor, with no overload and a limit of 400 hours a year.
