125kVA Cummins Diesel Generator GCM113S

The GCM113S is a Cummins-powered three phase generator set rated at 113kVA (90kW) prime and 125kVA (100kW) standby at 415V and 50Hz. The engine is the 6BT5.9G2, a six cylinder, 5.9 litre turbocharged diesel running at 1500rpm with an electronic governor. The alternator is a brushless Mecc Alte ECP34-1L4A with AVR and Class H insulation, and a Deep Sea 7320 MKII controller and four pole circuit breaker handle control and output switching.

Key features

At full load the set uses 22 litres an hour, which gives about 27 hours from the tank. At 75% load it uses 17 litres an hour and at 50% load 11. Oil capacity is 16 litres and coolant capacity is 19.7 litres.

At 113kVA prime and 125kVA standby, the GCM113S typically suits the site loads of a processing shed, workshop complex, pumping plant or commercial building: lighting, motors, refrigeration and general power on three phase. Add up the running loads, then check the starting current of your largest motor, which can be several times its running current, against the rating you plan to use. The compliance plate on each machine gives its running and starting figures. Standby power (ESP) is an emergency supply at an average load factor of 85% with no overload capability and a limit of 400 hours a year. Prime power (PRP) is continuous operation at variable load for unlimited hours a year at an average load factor of 75%, with 10% overload for 1 hour in 12.
