The BES27S3 is a 27kVA hybrid micro-grid system that combines solar, battery storage and a diesel generator. Its LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack is air cooled, a smart energy management system with AC/DC conversion links the sources, and the system can charge from the grid and discharge back to it.
Key features
- Bidirectional grid charge and discharge lets the battery take power from the grid and feed it back.
- Solar, battery storage and a diesel generator are combined as one hybrid micro-grid system.
- AC/DC conversion lets the DC battery and solar supply AC loads and lets AC sources charge the battery, and the smart energy management system works with it.
- An RCD leakage protector cuts the supply on earth leakage.

What it will run
With a 27kVA rating, size the system from the loads that run at the same time rather than the total of everything on site, and allow extra for motors, which draw a surge well above their running current as they start.
