14kVA iGo2Zero Hybrid Energy System BES14S

The BES14S is a 14kVA (14kW at power factor 1) single phase, 50Hz hybrid energy system that combines solar PV charging, 25kWh of LiFePO4 battery storage and a Kubota V2203 diesel generator in one system with a plug-and-play interface. A smart energy management system with AC/DC power conversion links the sources, and RCD leakage protection is fitted.

Key features

• One button switches between modes, and hybrid mode draws on the PV system, the battery and the diesel generator, individually or in combination, with smart scheduling and distribution.
• Battery mode is powered by the PV system and the battery alone, without the diesel generator.
• The 25kWh LiFePO4 battery pack is air-cooled and works at 48V DC, with a maximum charge and discharge rate of 1C (a full charge or discharge in about an hour).
• The PV charging system has an MPPT (maximum power point tracking) stage rated at 21kWp.
• Operation data reports can be generated daily, monthly or annually, and the control strategy can be adjusted based on economic benefit.
• A remote cooling system and a fire safety system are part of the structure, and the fuel tank is leak-proof.

The Kubota V2203 diesel generator draws on a 100 litre fuel tank. Noise is 58 dB(A) at 7 m in hybrid operation and 50 dB(A) at 7 m in battery operation.

What it will run

The loads on site decide what the BES14S can run. Its 14kW output at power factor 1 works out to about 58A at 240V. Add up the running load of everything that operates at the same time, allow for the surge that motors, pumps and compressors draw at start-up, and note how many hours each item runs per day, because the 25kWh battery, the solar input and the diesel fuel decide how long the system keeps going.
