88kVA Cummins Diesel Generator LG80C

The LG80C is a three phase diesel generator set for 415V, 50Hz supply, rated 88kVA (70.4kW) standby and 80kVA (64kW) prime. It runs a Cummins 4BTA3.9G11, a four-cylinder, 3.9 litre turbocharged and aftercooled diesel, at 1500 rpm under a mechanical governor, with electric start. A brushless Leroy Somer TAL-A44-E alternator with an AVR (automatic voltage regulator) makes the power, and a four pole circuit breaker protects it.

Key features

Fuel use is 17.6 litres an hour at full load, 13.2 at 75% load and 9.1 at half load. At 75% load the tank runs the set for 23 hours. The silenced canopy is rated at 73 dB(A) at 7 m, and the outlets are two 15 amp 240V and one 32 amp 415V.

What it will run

Work from the site's real load: the total running at once, plus the starting surge of the largest motor, which can be several times its running current. At 88kVA the set typically covers the essential circuits of a mid-sized workshop, factory section, pumping site or commercial building. Choose the rating by duty. Standby suits emergency supply, with an average 85% load factor, no overload capability and up to 400 hours a year. Prime suits variable loads without an annual hour limit, at an average 75% load factor, with 10% overload for 1 hour in every 12. Spread the load evenly across the three phases and check the compliance plate on each appliance.
