The TRACTORPACK-085 is an 85 kVA three phase tractor PTO generator. A PTO generator takes its drive from the tractor's power take-off (PTO) shaft rather than from an engine of its own.

What it will run
At 85 kVA the TRACTORPACK-085 typically handles farm loads such as irrigation pumping, grain handling, dairy plant and workshop machinery, once the running load and the largest motor start are accounted for. A large motor draws several times its running current as it starts, and a soft starter or star delta starter reduces that surge, so check the starter type and the compliance plate of each large motor. Spread any single phase loads, such as lighting and house circuits, evenly across the three phases. The kilowatts available equal the kVA rating multiplied by the load's power factor. The tractor matters as much as the alternator: its PTO has to supply enough power for the load. Connect it to fixed wiring through a changeover switch installed by a licensed electrician, and have large site loads assessed by an electrician or engineer.
