8.8kVA Pramac Diesel Generator P9000

The P9000 is a single phase diesel generator rated 8.8kVA (7.9kW) standby (LTP) at 50Hz, with a power factor of 0.9. It is powered by a Lombardini 25LD330, an air-cooled, naturally aspirated 654cm³ diesel running at 3000 rpm under a mechanical governor, and it starts electrically from a 12V circuit. The alternator is a brushless two pole unit with Class H insulation, IP23 protection and an AVR 860 voltage regulator.

Key features

What it will run

At 7.9kW standby the P9000 supplies about 33A at 240V (7.9kW / 240V, approximate). That typically covers lighting, refrigeration or a cool room, a pressure pump and workshop power tools on one single phase supply, as long as the larger motors are not all starting at once. Motors in pumps and compressors draw several times their running current at start, so size the set against your largest motor first. Check the compliance plate on each appliance for its running and starting figures, then add them up.
