The Gentech EP7000HSRE is a 7kVA single phase petrol generator powered by a Honda GX390 engine, started electrically or by recoil. Its maximum output is 7kVA at 0.8 power factor, about 5.6kW, at 230V, from a 7kVA alternator.

What it will run
The 7kVA maximum is about 5.6kW once the 0.8 power factor is applied. Work out the running load of everything you want on together and keep it below that, with headroom. A site or workshop with power tools, a compressor, lighting and a fridge or freezer is a typical fit. Motors start with a larger surge than they draw when running, so allow extra for them, and read the compliance plate on each appliance for its rated watts or amps. A 15A outlet cannot supply more than 15A, which is worth remembering when two heavy tools are plugged into the same one.
