600W Welling & Crossley Portable Power Station WC-BG600

The WC-BG600 is a battery power station from Welling & Crossley, rated at 600W continuous with 1200W maximum (surge) output from a 512Wh LiFePO4 battery. It has no engine, fuel or exhaust: 240 V AC comes from a built-in inverter, alongside USB, 12 V DC and wireless charging outputs, and the battery recharges from a wall socket or from solar panels through the built-in MPPT controller.

What it will run

With 600W continuous it typically suits phones, laptops, camera batteries, LED lighting, a 12 V or small 240 V fridge, a TV or modem and router through a blackout. It is not suited to heaters, kettles, hair dryers or power tools above 600W. Run time falls as load rises, so divide the battery capacity by the total watts you plan to draw for a rough estimate, and allow for inverter losses. Check the rating plate on each appliance, and remember that motor loads such as fridges, pumps and compressors draw a start-up surge well above their running watts.

The WC-BG600 suits camping and touring, weekend getaways, home blackout kits for communications and lighting, photographers and content creators on location, and markets or stalls that need lighting and a card terminal.
