6kVA Kubota Diesel Generator GL6000

The GL6000 is a 5.5kVA single phase diesel generator powered by a Kubota Z482, a vertical, two cylinder, water-cooled, 4-cycle diesel running at 3000 rpm. Rated output (COP) is 5.5kVA and 5.5kW at 240V and 50Hz, with a power factor of 1. A salient-pole, revolving-field alternator with an AVR system is direct coupled to the engine, and starting is electric. Protection is a 25A MCB and two 16A 30mA RCBOs, with the MEN link made at the alternator.

The 28 litre tank and a consumption of 2.4 litres an hour at full load give about 12 hours of running at full load. Rated current is 22.9A at 240V. Two 15A receptacles (IP66 rated) are fitted, and the starting battery is a 44B19R (12V, 27Ah). Engine oil capacity is 2.2 litres and coolant capacity is 3.7 litres. Forklift openings in the base and a one point lifting eye are built in for handling with lifting equipment.

What it will run

At 5.5kW and 22.9A, the GL6000 typically covers workshop and farm loads such as lighting, a fridge and freezer, a pressure pump and power tools, provided they are not all starting at once. Motors in pumps and compressors draw several times their running current at start, so allow headroom for your largest motor. Check the compliance plate on each appliance for its running and starting watts, then add them up.
