4.5kVA Honda Petrol Generator GH4000

The Honda GH4000 is a single phase petrol generator with a 4.5kVA (4kW) output, powered by a Honda GX270 single cylinder overhead valve (OHV) engine running at 3000rpm. Its AC synchronous brushless alternator produces 240V at 50Hz, the engine starts by recoil pull cord, and a small roll frame surrounds the set.

What it will run

At 4kW (about 17A at 240V), the GH4000 typically runs a mix of lighting, a fridge, a TV, a pump and a power tool or two, as long as the total stays inside the rating. Motors in pumps, compressors, fridges and saws draw a surge when they start, so leave headroom above the running total. Check the compliance plate on each appliance for its rated watts or amps, then add up everything that will run together.
