30kVA iGo2Zero Hybrid Generator PH30/40

The iGo2Zero PH30/40 is a 30kVA three phase hybrid generator (415V, 50Hz) that combines a Yanmar 4TNV98 diesel generator, 40kWh of LiFePO4 battery storage and 5 x 460W solar panels in one integrated system. The Yanmar is a naturally aspirated, four cylinder, 3.319 litre engine running at 1500 rpm with a mechanical governor, driving a Leroy Somer TAL-A42-C brushless alternator with AVR. A DEIF AGC150 controller manages the unit, and a four pole circuit breaker provides protection.

Key features

• One unit brings the solar, battery and diesel generator together, giving a site a single hybrid installation instead of three separate ones.
• The battery and the solar panels (2,300W in total) take part of the load, so the diesel generator runs for fewer hours.
• The 40kWh LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery is built from 5.12kWh, 51.2V packs rated for 6,000 or more cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
• The brushless alternator has an AVR (automatic voltage regulator) to hold output voltage steady, and harmonic distortion is under 5%.
• A visualised smart control system and remote monitoring show how the system is operating.
• The enclosure is a galvanised, powder-coated canopy on a heavy-duty skid base with fork pockets.

The 100 litre bunded fuel tank gives about 18.6 hours of run time at 75% load, working from the 5.37 L/hr consumption at that load, and an external fuel connection is provided. The sound-attenuated canopy is rated at about 60 dB(A) at 7 m. Outlets are three 15A 240V and one 32A 415V.

What it will run

The loads on site decide what a 30kVA hybrid system can run, not the kVA figure alone. The rating is apparent power, so the usable power in kW depends on the power factor of the loads. Tally the equipment that runs at the same time, leave room for the start-up surge of motors, pumps and compressors, and note the daily hours of each item, because the battery's stored energy and the diesel's fuel set how long the system keeps going.
