30kVA ABLE Diesel Generator FS30X3

The FS30X3 is a 30kVA three phase diesel generator rated 30kVA (24kW) prime (PRP) and 33kVA (26kW) standby (ESP) at 415V, 50Hz and a power factor of 0.8. It is powered by a FAWDE 4DW92-39D, a four-cylinder, turbocharged, water-cooled diesel running at 1500 rpm, and drives a four-pole brushless synchronous alternator with AVR. Electric start at 12 volts uses the included battery, and protection is an IP67-enclosed RCD plus over current protection.

Key features

• The alternator has class H insulation and IP23 protection, and its AVR holds the output voltage steady as loads change.
• The electric governor holds engine speed, and with it the 50Hz frequency, as loads come on and off.
• A charger keeps the 12 volt, 60 Ah battery topped up, and a lockable isolator lets it be disconnected and locked off.
• The ComAp AMF20 controller has a two-wire remote start input, and an emergency stop is fitted.

Noise is 63 dB(A) at 7 m. The engine is rated 29.0 kW prime and 32.0 kW standby. Ambient temperatures from -25°C to 50°C are specified, with a coolant heater needed below 5°C, along with humidity below 80% and altitude below 1000 m.

What it will run

At 24kW prime the FS30X3 has a rated current of about 42A per phase. Typically it suits irrigation pumps, a grain dryer, a commercial kitchen, a workshop with machining equipment, or the essential loads of a small business park. Motors draw several times their running current as they start, so start the largest first, add the other loads in steps and keep the three phases balanced. Gather the running and starting power from each machine's compliance plate. Prime (PRP) allows unlimited annual hours on a variable load, with 10% overload for 1 hour in every 12. Standby (ESP) is for emergency use during mains outages, with no overload.
