26kVA CAT Diesel Generator DE26-SP ENCL

The DE26-SP is a stationary, single phase diesel generator set. A Cat C3.3 engine drives an LCB1514J alternator.

Key features

• The Cat C3.3 is a naturally aspirated, water cooled, four-stroke diesel with three cylinders in line and 3.3 litres of displacement.
• A mechanical governor holds the engine at 1500 rpm, so speed control does not depend on engine electronics.
• A 161 litre fuel tank gives the set its own on-board supply, with running time depending on the load.

This single phase set typically suits larger workshops, farm and irrigation pumping, cold storage and commercial premises on a single phase supply. Start with a load list: the running load on each circuit, then the motors, which draw several times their running current as they start. Motors and other inductive loads also run at a lower power factor than the 1.0 the set is rated at, so check their kVA as well as their kW. Each appliance's compliance plate lists its running and starting figures. Connection to the switchboard, through a changeover switch, must be made by a licensed electrician.
