22kVA CAT Diesel Generator DE22 ENCL

The DE22 is a stationary diesel generator set with a standby output of 22 kVA and a prime output of 20 kVA. A Cat C2.2 engine drives a Leroy Somer brushless alternator, and the set is operated from an EMCP 4.1 control panel.

Key features

• The Cat C2.2 is a naturally aspirated, water cooled, four-cylinder, four-stroke diesel of 2.2 litres with in-line cylinders.
• The mechanical governor keeps engine speed at 1500 rpm for 50 Hz output, with no electronic speed control to configure.
• The alternator has class H winding insulation and shunt excitation, and its IP23 rating covers finger-sized objects and water spray.
• An R220 automatic voltage regulator limits steady state voltage variation to plus or minus 1.0%, which keeps supply voltage steady for connected equipment.
• The engine and alternator share a heavy-duty fabricated steel base frame, so they stay mounted together as one assembly.
• Cooling is designed for ambient temperatures up to 50°C, which keeps the set inside its design range on hot days.

The engine runs on Class A2 diesel or BS EN 590 fuel and uses API CH4 15W-40 engine oil.

A set of this output is sized from your own load list. Add up the running load on each circuit that must stay live, mark the motors, and allow for their starting current: pumps, compressors and refrigeration draw several times their running current as they start, so the largest is best started first with the rest added in steps. Check each item's compliance plate for its running and starting figures, and confirm the phase and voltage your equipment needs.
