2.5kVA Honda Petrol Generator GH2000

The GH2000 is a single phase petrol generator producing 2kW / 2.5kVA at 240V and 50Hz. Its engine is a Honda GX160, an overhead valve single cylinder unit running at 3000 rpm with recoil start. The alternator is an AC synchronous brushless type with Class H insulation, and a small roll frame surrounds the set.

What it will run

At 2kW the GH2000 can supply about 8.3A in total at 240V (2000W divided by 240V), shared across both sockets. Typically that suits site lighting, a drill, an angle grinder, a small compressor, a transfer pump and phone or laptop chargers, as long as the running total stays inside the rated output. Motors draw several times their running current at start, so start the biggest load first and add the rest afterwards. The compliance plate on each appliance gives its running and starting figures.
