The MaxWatt MX2000iSR is a recoil start digital inverter generator with a 4-stroke, air-cooled petrol engine. It is rated at 1800W with a maximum of 2000W (2.4kVA), single phase at 240V and 50Hz, and the engine runs at a variable speed.

Key features

Digital inverter output is suited to sensitive electronics such as phones, laptops and TVs.
Variable engine speed lets the engine adjust to the load rather than run at one fixed speed.
Two 15A outlets (IP44) let you run two appliances or tools at once, within the total rating.
Recoil start gets the engine going with a pull of the cord.
Engine oil is included with the generator.

Run time is 4 hours at 50% load and 2.6 hours at 100% load.

What it will run

At 1800W rated and 2000W maximum, the MX2000iSR typically runs lights, device chargers, a TV, a laptop, a fridge and a fan, with the total kept to the rated figure. Rated current is 7.5A at 240V and the 2000W maximum is about 8.3A, so add up the running watts of everything you plan to use together and treat the maximum as headroom, not a target. Air conditioners, pumps, compressors and power tools draw a larger surge at start, so look at each appliance's compliance plate for its rated watts or amps and allow extra for anything with a motor.
