The Hyundai GHD2000E is a 2.2kVA (2kW) single phase diesel generator, the smallest diesel in the Hyundai GHD range. It gives a modest diesel-fuelled output for backup and intermittent site use, with a 2.5 litre fuel tank, and it is rated for standby duty only.
Key features
- 2.2kVA / 2kW output: enough for lighting, chargers, a fridge and small tools.
- Diesel fuel: runs on the same fuel as farm machinery, utes and site plant, so there is no separate petrol supply to keep.
- Single phase output: standard 240 V for everyday tools and appliances.
- Standby duty rating: stated clearly up front, so it is matched to backup and intermittent work rather than daily primary power.
- 2.5 litre fuel tank: a small tank, so plan for regular refuelling or shorter sessions.
Operating data: at its 2kW figure the generator supplies roughly 8.3 amps at 240 V. The listing gives a 2.5 litre fuel tank; run time, consumption and noise figures are not published for this model, so ask us if you need them before you buy.
What it will run
With 2kW to work with, the GHD2000E typically runs a fridge or freezer with lights and phone chargers during an outage, or a single small power tool such as a drill, jigsaw or small angle grinder with a work light alongside. Fridge and pump motors draw a surge at start-up, so start them first and leave headroom. Kettles, heaters, microwaves and larger saws will usually exceed its output. Always check the rating plate on each appliance and keep the combined running load within 2kW.
The GHD2000E suits sheds and small workshops that need occasional power, farm backup for a fridge and lighting, and worksites where a diesel unit fits the fuel already on hand. It is a straightforward choice for keeping the essentials going through an outage where a diesel engine is preferred over petrol.
Standby use only. It is built for standby use and is not rated for prime or continuous duty.
