165kVA ABLE Diesel Generator LG165D3

The LG165D3 is a 165kVA three phase diesel generator rated 165kVA (132kW) prime and 182kVA (145kW) standby at 415V, 50Hz and a power factor of 0.8. Power comes from a six-cylinder turbo diesel, water cooled and turning at 1500 rpm, which drives a four-pole brushless synchronous alternator with AVR. It starts electrically at 24 volts with the batteries included, and protection is an IP67-enclosed RCD plus over current protection.

What it will run

A set of this size is matched to the combined load of a site. At 132kW prime it has a rated current of 231A per phase, and at a power factor of 0.8 the loads should be totalled in kW as well as kVA. Typically it suits the motors, compressors, pumps, chillers, lighting and control systems of an industrial plant or a large commercial building. Start the largest motor first and add other loads in steps, because motors draw several times their running current as they start, and keep the three phases balanced. The compliance plate on each machine gives its running and starting power. An electrician or engineer should assess the site load before the set is specified, and a licensed electrician should connect it to the switchboard through a changeover switch.
