164kVA Pramac Diesel Generator GSW165P-P

The GSW-165P is a three phase diesel generator rated 164kVA (131.2kW) standby (LTP) and 152.62kVA (122.1kW) prime (PRP) at 50Hz, with a power factor of 0.8. It is powered by a Perkins 1106A-70TAG2, a water-cooled, turbocharged six cylinder in-line diesel of 7000cm³. The alternator is a Mecc Alte ECP34-2L, a brushless four pole unit with Class H insulation and IP23 protection, and the set sits in a soundproofed, weatherproof enclosure of zinc-coated steel.

What it will run

A 131.2kW standby set is chosen from a site load schedule. Work through the site's motors, pumps, compressors, chillers and lighting, record each running and starting figure from the compliance plate, and note the loads that start together. A three phase set at this size typically supplies that mix, with the single phase circuits shared evenly across the phases. Because large motors draw several times their running current at start, staged starting or soft starters can reduce the size of set needed. An engineer should review the schedule, and a licensed electrician must connect the set to the site's wiring through a changeover or transfer switch.
