1650kVA Cummins or Perkins Diesel Generator GC1500S / GP1500S

The GC1500S is a Cummins-powered three phase diesel generator set rated at 1500kVA (1200kW) prime and 1650kVA (1320kW) standby at 415V and 50Hz. Perkins power comes as the GP1500S; the figures here are for the Cummins GC1500S. The engine is a Cummins KTA50GS8, a 16 cylinder, 50 litre turbocharged and aftercooled diesel running at 1500rpm with an electronic governor, driving a brushless Stamford Pi734C alternator with AVR. A Deep Sea 7420 MKII controller and a four pole circuit breaker handle control and output.

What it will run

At 1500kVA prime and 1650kVA standby (1200kW and 1320kW), the GC1500S is sized from the site's load schedule, not from individual appliances. It typically suits major industrial plant, large processing and manufacturing sites, mining and construction operations and large commercial buildings on three phase 415V. An engineer should assess the running loads, motor starting currents and step loads before the set is specified. Prime power (PRP) is continuous operation at variable load for unlimited hours a year, with an average load factor of 75% and 10% overload for 1 hour in 12.
