148kVA Pramac Diesel Generator GSW150P-P

The GSW-150P is a three phase diesel generator rated 148kVA (118.4kW) standby (LTP) at 50Hz, with a power factor of 0.8, and it also carries a prime (PRP) rating. It is powered by a water-cooled Perkins diesel that starts electrically on a 12V circuit. The alternator is a Mecc Alte ECP34-1L, a brushless four pole unit with electronic voltage regulation, Class H insulation and IP23 protection. The set sits in a soundproofed, zinc-coated weatherproof canopy on a welded steel base frame.

What it will run

At 118.4kW standby, the GSW-150P is sized from a site load schedule rather than from individual appliances. A three phase set of this size typically carries a mix of motors, pumps, compressors, lighting and building services, with single phase circuits spread evenly across the three phases. Motors draw several times their running current at start, so the starting method (direct on line, star-delta or soft start) changes the size of set you need. Check the compliance plate on each machine for its running and starting figures, then add them up in the schedule. An electrician or engineer should assess the schedule, and a licensed electrician must connect the set to the site's wiring through a changeover or transfer switch.
