11kVA Kubota Diesel Generator LG10K-1

Rated at 10kVA (8kW) prime and 11kVA (8.8kW) standby, the LG10K-1 is a single phase diesel generator running at 240V and 50Hz. It is built around a Kubota D1105, a three cylinder, 1.123 litre, naturally aspirated engine turning at 1500 rpm. A Stamford S0L1-P1 brushless alternator with AVR supplies the output, a mechanical governor holds engine speed, and a two pole circuit breaker protects the set.

Key features

The D1105 uses 3.5 litres an hour at full load, 2.9 at 75% load and 1.8 at 50% load, so the bunded tank lasts 36 hours at 75% load. The controller is a DeepSea 6120. Engine oil capacity is 5.1 litres and coolant capacity is 6.4 litres. The canopy has a galvanised powder-coat finish.

What it will run

At 8.8kW standby the LG10K-1 supplies about 37A at 240V (8,800 watts divided by 240), or about 33A at the 8kW prime rating. That typically covers the essential circuits of a home or small business: lighting, fridges and freezers, a pressure pump, power tools and a few appliances, with any motor counted at its starting current rather than its running current. Motors can draw several times their running current at start, so leave headroom for the largest one. Check the compliance plate on each appliance for its running and starting load.
