11kVA CAT Diesel Generator DE11-SP-ENCL

The DE11-SP-ENCL is a stationary, single phase diesel generator set. It pairs a Cat C1.5 engine with an LC Series alternator, model LCB1114F.

Key features

• The Cat C1.5 is a naturally aspirated, four-stroke diesel with three cylinders in line and 1.5 litres of displacement, so there is no turbocharger in the air path to maintain.
• A mechanical governor regulates engine speed, so speed control does not depend on engine electronics.
• The alternator has class H insulation, a high temperature class for the windings, and IP23 ingress protection against finger-sized objects and water spray.
• Shunt excitation and an R220/R221 automatic voltage regulator keep output voltage steady, within plus or minus 1.0% at steady state.
• The cooling system is designed for ambient temperatures up to 50°C, so hot sites sit inside its design range.

Noise is 59.9 dBA at 7 m. The engine runs on Class A2 diesel or BS EN 590 fuel and uses API CH4 15W-40 engine oil. Control is through the EMCP 4.1 panel, and the engine electrical system is 12 V negative earth.

What it will run

This single phase set typically suits workshop tools, pumps, lighting, cool rooms and small commercial loads, provided the heavier loads start one at a time. Add up what must run together, then allow extra for anything with a motor: pumps, compressors and air conditioners draw several times their running current as they start. Check each appliance's compliance plate for its running and starting figures. A licensed electrician must connect the set to your switchboard through a changeover switch.
