110kVA ABLE Perkins Diesel Generator PL110PL

The PL110PL is a 110kVA three phase diesel generator rated 100kVA (80kW) prime (PRP) and 110kVA (88kW) standby (ESP) at 415V, 50Hz and a power factor of 0.8. A four cylinder, 4.4 litre Perkins diesel, water cooled and running at 1500 rpm, drives a Leroy Somer LSA44.3S5 four-pole brushless alternator with AVR. Electric start is at 12 volts, the battery is included, and an IP67-enclosed RCD and over current protection are fitted.

Key features

• The ComAp MRS16 controller has a two-wire remote start input, so an external switch or controller can start the set.
• Two 32A and one 20A three phase outlets and one 15A single phase outlet are rated IP66 (dust tight and protected against powerful water jets).
• Hardwire terminals allow a fixed connection to a site switchboard.
• The canopy has a lock, sound deadening, a weather-resistant powder coat and stainless steel fittings.

What it will run

A set this large is chosen for a site's total load rather than for single appliances. Start from a load schedule that lists every motor with its running and starting current and the phase it sits on, and keep the load balanced across the three phases. Pumps, compressors and chillers can draw several times their running current as they start, so the starting sequence matters as much as the total. Check each item's compliance plate, and have an electrician or engineer assess the schedule before the set is specified. Connection to a switchboard should be made by a licensed electrician.
