10.8kVA Pramac Diesel Generator P11000-AMF

The P11000-AMF is a single phase diesel generator rated 10.8kVA (9.7kW) standby (LTP) and 10.0kVA (9.0kW) continuous (COP) at 50Hz, with a power factor of 0.9. It is powered by a Yanmar 3TNV70-HGE, a water-cooled, naturally aspirated 854cm³ diesel running at 3000 rpm under a mechanical governor, and it starts electrically on a 12V circuit. The alternator is a two pole unit with Class H insulation, IP23 protection and capacitor voltage regulation. AMF in the model name stands for automatic mains failure control.

Key features

• AMF control runs the changeover for you: the load moves to the generator when mains power fails, and the generator stops when mains power returns.
• The AMF panel monitors mains and generator voltage, frequency and running hours, and raises alarms for out-of-limit voltage, low battery voltage, low oil pressure and failure to start.
• A battery charger, audible alarm and emergency stop are part of the AMF equipment, so the starting battery stays charged and faults sound an alarm.
• A two pole alternator turning at 3000 rpm produces 50Hz, and the mechanical governor holds that speed as the load changes.
• Class H insulation gives the alternator windings thermal headroom, and IP23 protection guards against larger solid objects and light water spray.

The 24 litre tank gives 7.87 hours at 75% load and 6.05 hours at 100% load, with fuel use of 3.05L/h and 3.97L/h at those loads. Noise is 68 dB(A) at 7 m.

What it will run

At 9.7kW standby the P11000-AMF supplies about 40A at 240V (9.7kW / 240V, approximate). That typically covers lighting, refrigeration or a cool room, a pressure pump and workshop power tools on one single phase supply, as long as the larger motors are not all starting at once. Motors in pumps and compressors draw several times their running current at start, so size the set against your largest motor first. Check the compliance plate on each appliance for its running and starting figures, then add them up.
